What is my movie? I've tried everywhere
Main Post:
Hi!
I wonder if can anyone help me identify a movie based on the approximate description of a single scene I remember?
I've seen this scene on a cinema page on facebook, but the page has been recently erased and I can't find the movie's name anywhere. I've even tried chat gpt.
The scene consisted of a young man creating abstract paintings on layers of glass, which he then overlayes while we hear his thoughts in a monologue, discussing his anxieties and insecurities as an artist, the fear of being perceived as a failure, and the fear that people will discover that his art is accidental and that he doesn't really know what he's doing (a very accurate artist feeling). He was painting at a very fast and desperate pace. He was kind of suffering from it, but there was no overacting at all.
I'm sure the monologue wasn't in English, but I can't remember the language, and it was definitely before 2000... The young man was painting inside a room/attic/apartment with a wooden floor and some daytime lighting in the scene. There was no soundtrack, only the scene of him painting and overlaying the glass while his anxious thoughts came in torrents. He was skinny, white, his clothes were plain.

Mickey 17 is my first movie of 2025 that got 5 stars. What's yours?

Top Comment: Not seen a 5-star 2025 movie yet - wanted to love Mickey but I lost patience with the last act and felt the whole thing was a mess. My only 5-stars this year overall are Hard Truths (a 2024 movie just released where I live) and a rewatch of Seven Samurai!
As a Catholic, what is your favorite movie?

Movies on Meta Quest 3, worth it?
Main Post:
When Apple introduced the VisionPro, I was fascinated by the idea of watching movies on it and having a cinema-sized picture. But paying 4000€ just for that is simply not rational.
So I'm thinking about buying a Meta Quest 3 for movies. How is your movie experience with it? Is it worth it?
I don't think I'll be doing much VR gaming. So it's really only for movies and series.
Edit: I previously had a 4K projector and a 90” screen. However, I've now moved in with my girlfriend and we simply don't have space for a large TV or screen.

finally watched The Iron Claw & this movie made me want to die

I had already known about the Von Eric family going into this film & I still wasn't prepared for how devastating it was. I was sobbing uncontrollably at the end. I think the movie did a great job depicting the dynamic of the whole family... the unbreakable bond among the brothers, the dad living vicariously through his sons & literally only caring about having a title in the family, (I hope Fritz Von Eric is rotting in hell for what he did to those boys), the pressure & generational trauma the sons felt. Zac Effron was incredible portraying Kevin Von Eric & the severe depression he was going through as he kept losing his brothers one by one, & having to deal with an apathetic father who held no accountability for himself.
Kevin carring Kerry to the house after he shot himself, Kerry, David, Michael, Jack Jr reuniting in heaven, Kevin saying to his own sons "I used to be a brother... now I'm not a brother anymore" just broke my heart beyond repair.
an well done film about one of the most tragic families in wrestling history.
